Moana Pool New Leisure & Dive Pool

The $11 million project consisted of the construction of a new 10 metre dive pool, leisure pool and a regulatory upgrade of the Dunedin City Council’s Moana Pool complex.

Octa provided project management services including detailed programming, monitoring and reporting, cost control and facilitated value management and engineering workshops.

The programme was complex requiring the progressive handover of the various pools as they were completed.  A prime requirement was that construction work had to be scheduled to enable the ongoing use of the complex.

The design team included two specialist overseas designers.  The design of the pools was an addition to the existing complex and therefore had to be integrated both in the design and with the existing pool mechanical systems. 

The project was a success with the minimal effect on the operations of the pool.
