This $12 million project involved the refurbishment, strengthening conversion of the 1880’s Grand Hotel into a boutique Casino.

Octa’s role included the detailed programme and management of the construction project, and integration of the significant fitout, staff training and operational handover.

As well as refurbishment and strengthening of the historic building, this project required the construction of a new extension, incorporating a lift, kitchen and staff facilities.  The need for significant strengthening work and the restoration of historic features such as ornate fibrous plaster ceilings required detailed programming and tight management of the construction work front.

This was a fast track project that required the close co-ordination and integration of the design and construction work.  This project was completed on time in October 1999.
