As part of an overall modernisation strategy, IRD reviewed its property portfolio and future operational requirements.  Key drivers for the South Island were co-location of all Christchurch staff in one building, plus future flexibility of internal space to readily adapt to business change.  Accordingly the decision was made to proceed with a 14,000 sqm office development to accommodate IRD staff. 

This is a significant addition to the Christchurch CBD and is notable for its large 2000sqm floor plates, open plan office environment, “green” elements, solar shading, exterior glass, hvac technology, lighting control systems, natural environment “themed” interior, staff comfort, ease of internal movement and secure perimeter.

Octa were the external project manager on this project employed by IRD to manage the fitout of this magnificent development completed in December 2007.
