Wellington Railway Station Upgrade

Wellington Railway Station Upgrade

Wellington
This project involved the seismic strengthening of the “listed” historic Wellington Railway Station building using a series of internal shear walls (14 No.) each restrained by up to 4 ground anchors. In addition, building services were either completely replaced (hydraulic and electrical) or significantly enhanced (lifts and mechanical services).
To meet extremely tight timeframes, shear walls were constructed using a ‘top down’ methodology. This allowed shear walls to be completed to upper floors ahead of gaining access to the ground floor to construct the foundations.
